Hi, I’m Natalie.

As my kids are growing, I know outside time and messy play both have a calming effect on them. Sometimes, I just do NOT want to go outside. I started Milkweed and Messes in order to inspire more reluctant families to play messier and get outdoors daily. Science is catching up and proving what we know to be true: most of us aren’t getting enough outside time or free play time.

I’m an American who is currently living and playing in central Mexico with my 6 year old daughter, 7 year old son, and sometimes my husband. Even though the weather is great, sometimes the mosquitoes are thick. Along with messy play, we like to travel and read.
